Chennai: Dubbing the detention of a number of party men in land grabbing cases as `totally unwarranted and uncalled for`, DMK today sought Tamil Nadu Governor SS Barnala`s intervention to stop the police action.

A Delegation of the party`s advocates wing called on the
Governor and handed over a memorandum in this regard.
The delegation alleged while a Minister in Jayalalithaa
Cabinet, Agri Krishnamurthy, had been left to go scot free
despite `documentary evidence` of land grabbing against him,
DMK men in `legal possession` of land were arrested.

The arrests were `totally unwarranted and uncalled for` the
memoraundum said and wanted the governor to intervene to stop
them.
The memorandum warned of indefinite protest if the arrests
continued.
