Raising the issue during zero hour, K C Venugopal (Cong) expressed concern over the issue and alleged that some fanatic Hindu organisation was behind the incident.

As Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu objected to the issue being raised saying it was a state subject, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge backed Venugopal contending rightwing organisations were behind the attack.
