Natarajan gets bail in two land grabbing cases

Madurai: M Natarajan, husband of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa`s close friend Sasikala, was on Thursday granted bail in two land grabbing cases by the Madras High Court.

Justice M Sathyanarayanan of the bench here granted bail to Natarajan in both the cases.

In one case, a woman complainant Sakuthala filed an affidavit voluntarily withdrawing her criminal complaint against Natarajan.

She said she came to know that Natarajan was not involved in the alleged attack on her, as stated in her complaint to the Thanjavur police on March 22 and had intimated her decision to withdraw the complaint.

In the other case filed by Amala Pushpam, who had charged that two of her plots at Vilar in Thanjavur had been taken over by a trust, Natarajan`s counsel contended that the land was given by way of gift deed.

Natarajan along with Sasikala and several of their close relatives were expelled from AIADMK last December amid reports of their alleged interference in state administration and party affairs. However, Jayalalithaa had recently revoked the expulsion of Sasikala alone.
