Chennai: In the second reshuffle of the Jayalalithaa Ministry in Tamil Nadu since coming to power, P Chendur Pandian was on Monday inducted as Minister for Khadi and Village Industries.

In a simple ceremony at the Raj Bhavan here, Governor Surjit Singh Barnala administered the oath of office and secrecy to Pandian in the presence of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.

Speaker D Jayakumar and Ministers were present at the function.

In a minor reshuffle of her six-weeks old ministry, Jayalalithaa had yesterday dropped Law Minsiter E Subbiah and changed portfolios of some other ministers besides appointing Pandian.

Last week, A Mohammed John of Ranipet constituency was inducted into the ministry in the first reshuffle after the AIADMK won a landslide victory in the April 13 Assembly elections.
