Over 10,000 papers received for Tamil Conference

Coimbatore: Over 10,000 papers have been
received from various parts of the World for being presented
at the World Tamil Classical Conference, scheduled here from
June 23,Tamil Nadu Finance Minister, K Anbazhagan said on Tuesday.

Talking to reporters, after visiting the CODISSIA hall, the
venue of the five-day conference, Anbhazhagan said these
papers would be divided into 50 different categories by a
special committee.

The committee would select top 5,000 entries and the
authors and experts would be invited to present their papers
at the conference on June 24-27, he said.

A procession, depicting the culture, tradition and other
highlights of Tamil Nadu, with 60 floats would be taken out
during the conference, the minister said, adding that
transportatioin and accommodation have also been arranged for
those participating.

Earlier, Anbazhagan inaugurated the works of two railway
overbridges near Somanur, about 30 KM from here, at a cost of
Rs.22.41 crore.
