Former minister of state and Congress leader EVKS Elangovan has criticised Home Minister P Chidambaram for reportedly not informing the district Congress of his visit last week.
"Even when the Prime Minister visits a district, it is mandatory that the respective district Congress Committee be informed of his visit. However Chidambaram did not inform the district Congress of his April 22 visit," he told reporters here on Saturday.
"As a result, district Congress workers could not attend the function in which Chidambaram participated to unveil statues of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and Swami Vivekananda," he said.
Elangovan said there is factionalism in all parties, including Congress, but that it would however not affect the growth of the party.
