Chennai: PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss, whose party has been critical of its NDA ally BJP over many issues, met the party's national president Amit Shah at a function here on Sunday.

"It was just a courtesy meeting," Ramadoss told reporters.

The two leaders met for a few minutes at the wedding of RSS ideologue S Gurumurthy's daughter here today, party sources said.

To a question on whether the party would support the BJP for the February 13 bypoll for Srirangam Assembly constituency, he said the PMK general council would take a decision on it.

Vijayakant, leader of DMDK, another NDA ally, also attended the wedding, but it was not clear if he met Shah at the venue.

Ramadoss has been critical of the BJP government on various issues like the fishermen's woes and the ordinance to amend the Land Acquistion Act.
