Erode (TN): A poll code violation case has
been slapped against former Union Minister E V K S Elangovan
and 20 others for organising an unauthorised public meeting,
officials said on Tuesday.
Elangovan was addressing a meeting yesterday at K N Palayam
village near Gobichettipalayam, and when the flying squad
sleuths arrived there and tried to video graph the
proceedings, but they were prevented from doing so, officials said.

As prior permission is required to conduct a public
meeting, they were slapped with a case of poll code violation,
they said.
However, Erode District Panchayat Council Chairman,
Saravanan, said Elangovan had only been discussing with his
supporters about the visit to the district of Tamil Nadu Chief
Minister M Karunanidhi on Mar 31.
