Sankaracharya to present golden crown to Tirumala temple

Kanchi Sanakaracharya Jayendra Saraswathi will present a 14.5 kg golden crown studded with diamonds to the famous hill temple of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala in Tirupati.

The three-ft high crown would be handed over to the
officials of Tirumala Tirupathi Devastanam, which manages the
temple, on October 19.

After performing poojas, the presiding deity will be
adorned with the about Rs 2.5 crore worth crown on October 22,
Sankaracharya told reporters here Sunday.
