Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government on Wednesday said a proposal to provide Satellite-based Information Devices for fishermen who venture into deep seas for fishing was under its consideration.

Fisheries Minister KA Jayapal, replying to a question raised by Congress member JG Prince in the Assembly, said a plan to provide Satellite Information Devices to fishermen who venture deep into sea for fishing was under its consideration.

In reply to a query by ruling party MLA S Madheswaran, Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Minister R Kamaraj said steps were being taken to perform Kumbabishekam for Kottai Sri Prasanna Venkatesa Perumal temple in Attur taluk of Salem District.

"Steps were being taken by temple administration to perform Kumbabishekam with the contribution of the general public and with the participation of sponsors," he said.
