Six set to get elected unopposed to RS from the state

Three candidates of ruling DMK, two from AIADMK and a Congress nominee are all set to be elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Tamil Nadu.



Chennai: Three candidates of ruling DMK,
two from AIADMK and a Congress nominee are all set to be
elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Tamil Nadu with the
nominations of all four Independents rejected by the electoral
authorities.

Nomination papers of the Independents were not supported
by the ten MLAs, as required, and was thus rejected by the
Election Officer M Selvaraj, officials said.

The papers of T M Selvaganapathy, K P Ramalingam and S
Thangavelu (DMK) P H Manoj Pandiyan and K V Ramalingam (both
AIADMK) and E M Sudarsananachiyappan of Congress were found to
be in order during the scrutiny today.

They will be declared elected on June 10, the last date
for withdrawal of nominations.
