Tamil Nadu: Inspector injured; one held

Salem: A 55-year-old Armed Reserve Police Inspector was injured after a man attacked him with a razor when his jeep allegedly knocked down a milkman here, police on Tuesday said.

Ravichandran, a barber, had been arrested in connection with the attack late last night, city Police Commissioner A Amalraj said.
Inspector Sorimuthu was on his way home in his jeep when it brushed against the bicycle of the milkman who fell down following which a crowd gathered and a quarrel broke out between them and police personnel.

Ravichandran, who was among the crowd, suddenly took out the razor from his bag and attacked the Inspector on his head and face.
The Inspector with cut injuries has been admitted to the Mohan Kumaramangalam Government Medical College Hospital here, he said.
