DMK on Sunday changed the candidate for the Sholavandhan SC constituency in Madurai.

Chennai: DMK on Sunday changed the candidate for the Sholavandhan SC constituency in Madurai.

In the list of candidates that were released last week, DMK had announced that Dr Sripriya Thenmozhi would contest from the constituency.

"Since Sripriya Thenmozhi has evinced not to contest the polls, C Bhavani, wife of Athanur Panchayat Board President Chinna Karuppan will contest," a party statement said.

DMK had yesterday changed its candidates in Arakkonam and Orathanadu Assembly constituencies as well.

The party had already announced its candidates for 173 constituencies and also completed the seat-sharing and identification of constituencies with alliance partners for the rest of the total 234 seats for the May 16 assembly polls.
