Tiruchirappalli (TN) DMK top leader MK Stalin on Monday halted his address atop an election propaganda van here when he saw a hearse carrying a body unable to move past the crowd gathered to hear him.

"Let me appeal to you, please observe silence," Stalin said when he saw the hearse not able to steer through the gathering.

"Please make way. Please make way," he said ensuring the passage of the van through the road where he was addressing the meeting.

The crowd remained quiet till the van negotiated its way out and gathered speed.

Soon after, Stalin resumed his address.

In his speech, the DMK leader promised development if his party was voted to power.
