Tamil Nadu: Two of 50 fasting law college students hospitalised

Coimbatore: Two Government Law College students, among 50 students on fast for the last four days protesting against transfer of three of them to Tirunelveli last week, were on Friday hospitalised as their condition was deteriorating, police said.

Second year students Kaviyarasu and Vigneshkumar, both aged 19, fell sick and found weak and immediately admitted by fellow students to the Government Hospital here were being treated, they said.

The College was closed indefinitely from Tuesday following a group of students locked the principal and 12 teaching and non-teaching staff in a room for nearly three hours demanding the recall of the transferred students, police said.
