TN: Bus turns turtle, 40 students injured

At least 40 students of a Government Polytechnic institute were injured, when the bus in which they were travelling turned turtle.

Udhagamandalam (TN): At least 40 students of a Government Polytechnic institute here were Tuesday injured, when the bus in which they were travelling turned turtle, police said.

The injured have been admitted to the Government hospital here, police said.

The mishap occurred when the driver accelerated but the wheel got stuck in the mud and the bus overturned,police said.

A few drivers of autorickshaws and taxies, parked along the road side, broke the windowpanes and managed to remove students, who were stuck inside the bus.

The bus was going to the polytechnic, located some seven kms from here.
