Ramanathapuram (TN): A 32-year-old fisherman from here succumbed to injuries after his boat was hit by another boat off the coast of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates early on Wednesday.
According to a communique received by the family of R Murugesan, the incident occurred when he was fishing in the sea. He sustained fatal injuries in the neck after a jagged broken piece of his boat hit him.
Murugesan, hailing from Marakaiyar Nagar at nearby Thoppuvalsai, went to the UAE in 2010 in search of a job.
Murugesan's family appealed to the District Collector to take steps to bring his body back at the earliest, police said.
