Chennai: Tamil Nadu Government on Friday filed a defamation suit in a court here against DMK President M Karunanidhi for allegedly making "libellous" remarks against Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.
The suit, filed by the City Public Prosecutor in the Principal Sessions Court, also sought action against DMK`s mouthpiece "Murasoli" for reporting Karunandhi`s comments.
The CPP said in the report which appeared in the August 8 edition of `Murasoli` Karunanidhi had made some "sarcastic" and "libellous" comments about Jayalalithaa and contended they were defamatory.
