TN Guv, Karuna, Vaiko condole Farook's death

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah and former Chief Minister M Karuanidhi were among the leaders who condoled the death of Kerala Governor M O H Farook, who passed away here last night.

"I am deeply shocked and grieved to hear about the demise of your father Farook. He was a towering personality who was known for his administrative capabilities," Rosaiah said in a condolence message to Farook's son M O H F Shahjahan.

"His death is an irreparable loss to the nation and to the people of Puducherry in particular. I convey my heartfelt condolences to you and members of the bereaved family, heed.

Karunanidhi in his condolence message, recalled that Farook, a good friend of his, had met him at his residence when he was governor of Jharkhand. "I condole his death and my sympathies are with the bereaved family", he said.

MDMK Leader Vaiko praised Farook for taking immediate steps on issues concerning Sri Lankan Tamils. "He was known for conducting a healthy and decent politics", he said.

Even while serving as Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Farook has taken many steps to safeguard the lives of Tamils living in that country, he said.
