Namakkal:Two persons, including a minor child were charred to death and four injured after sparks from crackers lit during a temple festival at Kolli hills, about 67 km from here, fell on a shed storing them and exploded, police said.
Those killed were a 40-year-old man and a six-year-old child, they said.
The mishap occurred when devotees at the Thinnnur Nadu Mariamman temple at Kolli Hills burst crackers while taking out the main deity in a procession. Sparks from the crackers fell on a shed storing them and a whole bunch exploded, killing the two.
The injured have been hospitalised.
