Chennai: Formation of an upper air cyclonic
circulation over Bay of Bengal is expected to bring more rains
in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry tomorrow, meteorological
department said here today.
"An upper air cyclonic circulation has formed over South
West and adjoining West Central Bay. Due to this development,
Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are expected to receive more rain
during the next 24 hours starting from 8.30 AM this morning,"
He said fishermen have been warned not to venture into the
sea as strong offshore winds are expected from Southwesterly
to westerly direction, with speeds occasionally reaching 45-55
KMPH along off Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts.
Gingee (Villupuram district) of Tamil Nadu recorded nine
cm of rainfall in the last 24 hours.
In Chennai, the sky may be generally cloudy, with rain or
thundershowers in some areas. The maximum temperature would be
around 35 degree Celsius, they said.
