Salem: A woman constable died reportedly due to excessive blood loss at a private hospital here, where she was admitted for acute stomach pain.

Police said the 28-year-old woman had been married for 10 years and did not have any issues. She had been undergoing ayurvedic treatment to bear a child and had come to Sooramangalam in the district to see her sister on March 13.

Yesterday she complained of severe abdominal pains, was rushed to a private hospital, but died of severe blood loss, they said.

Relatives alleged that she had died due to insufficient medical care at the hospital.
