Mandali elected Dy Speaker of AP Assembly

Senior legislator Mandali Buddha Prasad has been unanimously elected as Deputy Speaker of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.

Hyderabad: Senior legislator Mandali Buddha Prasad has been unanimously elected as Deputy Speaker of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.

Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao announced Mandali`s election in the House today.

Mandali, who inherited his late father Venkata Krishna Rao`s political legacy, has been elected to the Assembly for the third time from Avanigadda constituency in Krishna district. He had also served as a minister in the Y S Rajasekhara Reddy government.

Mandali joined the Telugu Desam Party on the eve of the recent elections, protesting the Congress` decision to bifurcate the state.

He had also served as Chairman of AP Official Language Commission.

Leader of the House N Chandrababu Naidu, Leader of Opposition Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, ministers and legislators congratulated Mandali on his election as Deputy Speaker.
