 Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today said police department would be revamped as part of the proposed reorganisation of districts.

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today said police department would be revamped as part of the proposed reorganisation of districts.

Rao, who held review on revamping the police department, said the offices of the department should be started from the Dasara festival (October 11) when the districts would come into existence, a release from his office said.

The revamping of the police department should be done in a way to ensure that crimes are fully controlled, he said.

KCR further said police should be able to reach any place within minutes as part of measures to check crime.

In addition to the police commissionerates at Hyderabad, Siberabad, Rachakonda, Warangal, new commissionerates should be started at Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Siddipet and Ramagundam, the Chief Minister said.
KCR said Rs 2,000 crore would be allocated in the next budget for construction of offices as part of the reorganisation of the districts.
