Police officers from 21 countries visit Telangana DGP office

A team of 47 police officers from 21 countries visited the office of Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) here as part of a study tour to India.



Hyderabad: A team of 47 police officers from 21 countries visited the office of Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) here as part of a study tour to India.

The officers visited the DGP office on Thursday as part of their 12-week training programme at National Crime Records Bureau, New Delhi, an official release said on Friday.

The team will visit the SVP National Police Academy, which trains IPS officers, Forensic Science Laboratory and Telangana State Police Academy as part of the tour.

The visiting officers are from Afghanistan, Botswana, Ethiopia, Fiji, Ghana, Grenada, Indonesia, Guinea Bissau, Kenya, Lithuania, Mauritius, Myanmar, Nepal, Niger, Vietnam, Philippines, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, Zambia, El-Salvador and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

DGP Anurag Sharma and other senior police officers briefed them about the functioning of State Crime Record Bureau, Finger Print Bureau and also explained the working of Greyhounds - an elite anti-Naxal commando unit.

The visiting members were told about IT initiatives taken by Telangana Police to check crimes and improve interaction with citizens, the release added.
