Stop fighting and compete on development: Telangana to AP

Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh Government should stop "squabbling" with Telangana and concentrate on the development of the residuary state, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said today.

"Andhra Chief Minister, Andhra Ministers, I say that you lead your life. We will have ours. If you want an issue out of all, then Telangana is known for its fighting spirit," he said at an event.

Andhra Pradesh should compete with Telangana in the field of development, Rao said. His remarks come in the backdrop of "squabbling" between the two states on various issues like admissions to engineering and other professional courses, sharing of power and running of institutions.

Referring to protests by farmers at some places in Telangana over erratic power supply, the Chief Minister said the situation would improve in another two years and assured there would be 24-hour power supply.
