Telangana CM comes to rescue of tortured girl

 Moved by the story of a 19-year-old girl tortured by her father and step mother, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has come to her rescue.

Hyderabad: Moved by the story of a 19-year-old girl tortured by her father and step mother, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has come to her rescue.

The chief minister on Saturday met Pratyusha at a private hospital in the city, where she is undergoing treatment and promised to take care of her treatment and education.

Accompanied by his wife Shobha Rani and daughter K. Kavita, a Member of Parliament, KCR, as the chief minister is popularly known, called on the girl and handed her fruits, clothes and some pocket money. He assured she would be enrolled in a good school.

"You can also come to my house during holidays," he told her.

The chief minister assured the girl that he will allot her a house and perform her marriage after completion of her education.

KCR spoke to doctors and said after discharge from the hospital, she can come to his house and stay for few days. She will be later enrolled in a hostel.

The chief minister directed police officials to provide her security as she fears more brutality from her stepmother and father.

Pratyusha was rescued by police and child rights activists from the clutches of her stepmother Shyamala and father Ramesh, a telecom employee, on July 8.

The girl complained that she was tortured for several months. She had over a 100 injuries including cuts, burns and bruises all over her body.

Ramesh had separated from Pratyusha`s mother when she was five years old. Her mother died a few years ago.

As Pratyusha`s deceased mother had a flat and had transferred the same to her, Ramesh and Shyamla were torturing her to with an eye on the property.
