Hyderabad: Tuesday will prove to be a day of windfall for the legislators of Telangana as they will be 'gifted' expensive gadgets like iPods and iPhones by the state government.
As per a report in the Deccan Chronicle, the gadgets will be given to both members of the Legislative Assembly as well as the Legislative Council.
An Appropriation Bill is due to be passed in both the Houses today which will enable the government to gift the gadgets.
As per the report, some Rs 1.5 crore will be spent on the gifts.
Later tonight, Finance Minister Etela Rajender will also hold a grand dinner for the MLAs and MLCs.
It had been a practice in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh to shower lavish gifts on legislators.
