Two held for murdering transgender in Telangana

 Two persons were today arrested in connection with the murder of a 25-year-old transgender here on January 17, police said.

Hyderabad: Two persons were today arrested in connection with the murder of a 25-year-old transgender here on January 17, police said.

The accused, identified as Venkat, a driver, was apprehended along with his associate during the course of investigation, ACP (Kukatpally Division) Sanjeev Rao said.

According to police, Venkat had snatched Rs 1,600 in cash and a mobile phone from the transgender on January 17.
Venkat allegedly hit the victim on head with a stone after the latter threatened him of disclosing the matter to others, the ACP said, adding the victim died of excessive bleeding from injuries.

Rao said police are looking for two others who allegedly assisted Venkat in the murder.
