Hyderabad: YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan Reddy's sister Sharmila would begin her 'Paramarsa Yatra' across Telangana from December 8 to complete the Reddy's unfinished 'Odarpu Yatra'.
The 'yatra' is meant to console families of those who reportedly died of shock following the death of their father and former Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh YS Rajasekhara Reddy in 2009.
"Sharmila will begin the Yatra on December 8?from Kalwakurthy assembly segment (in Mahabubnagar district) and will cover 10 constituencies as 18 persons had died in the district on hearing the news of YSR Reddy's demise," YSRC Working President, Telangana P Srinivasa Reddy told reporters here after the release of the Yatra's poster.
Jaganmohan Reddy had finished the 'Odarpu Yatra' (to console families) in Khammam district but could not complete it in the remaining nine districts due to various reasons.
The 'yatra' would also include paying visit to families of farmers who have committed suicide.
"There were 157 suicides of families due to the faulty priorities of the government. YSR has a good following in the region as all sections of people have benefited out of his welfare schemes," he said.
TRS government has failed in fulfilling the poll promises, Srinivasa Reddy alleged.
Denying that the yatra has political moorings, he said that there are no elections in near future and no political motives can be attributed to the 'yatra'.
"It is only to keep up the promise of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy," the leader said.
