Sydney: Australia will host Ukraine in a Fed Cup tie in April for the right to stay in the World Group, Tennis Australia said on Tuesday.
Australia, who crashed out 4-1 to champions Italy in the first round in Hobart in February, beat Ukraine 5-0 last year to progress to the top tier for the first time since 2004.
Ukraine's second tilt for a place in the World Group in two years follows their 3-2 defeat of Sweden in the qualifying round.
The April 16-17 tie will be held in Melbourne.
