Somdev makes main draw of ATP Framers Classic

Los Angeles: Somdev Devvarman scored a straight set win over Ecuador’s Giovanni Lapentti to qualify for the singles event of the USD 619,500 Farmers Classic here.

The third seed Indian beat his unseeded rival 6-2 6-4 in the third and final round match of the qualifiers. His first round opponent in the main draw is a local qualifier Steve Johnson. If he manages to reach the second round, he will be facing sixth seed and world number 45 Serbian Janko Tipsaveric.
