Chennai, May 12: Congratulating BSP leader Mayawati
for leading her party to an overwhelming victory in the Uttar
Pradesh Assembly polls, PMK founder S Ramadoss on Saturday said her
success "symbolised victory of social justice, betterment of
oppressed and suppressed classes of the state in particular
and India in general".
Ramadoss said the broad-based strategies of including
every community under the fold of BSP paid rich dividends and
demonstrated that the people of Uttar Pradesh had more faith
in secularism and socialism than in communal and corrupt
forces.
"I am sure your new rule would usher in a new era of
peace and social progress in Uttar Pradesh," he said in his
message to Mayawati and expressed hope that she would continue
to support the policies of UPA government at the Centre to
which his party was also a partner.
