Puducherry Government to augment skill of youth

 Puducherry government has drawn up a plan to offer short term courses in technical and non-technical streams to ensure unemployed youth augmented their skill and became employable or launched self employment projects.

Puducherry: Puducherry government has drawn up a plan to offer short term courses in technical and non-technical streams to ensure unemployed youth augmented their skill and became employable or launched self employment projects.

Addressing reporters on the occasion of the Rangasamy government completing four years in office today, Welfare and Labour Minister P Rajavelu said the government would soon constitute a Skill Development Society to implement the courses on operation and maintenance of ECG and Intensive Critical Care equipments and maintenance and repair of domestic electronic equipments.

The youth would also be trained on spoken English.

He said that there would be no consideration of age for candidates to enrol themselves for the training in these courses. The duration of training would range between two to six months depending upon the courses selected.

The courses have been prescribed by the Directorate General of Employment and Training of the Union Labour Ministry. Stipends would also be paid and the quantum of amount was being finalised, he said.
