An FIR has been registered against 108 people following clash between two groups over graveyard land in which two policemen and a revenue department employee were injured, a senior officer said here on Monday.

Ballia: An FIR has been registered against 108 people following clash between two groups over graveyard land in which two policemen and a revenue department employee were injured, a senior officer said here on Monday.

Deputy Superintendent of Police K C Singh said that a complaint of encroachment on graveyard land was made with the sub-divisional magistrate.

He said that when an attempt was made to remove the encroachment, people attacked the police and revenue department team and torched an official vehicle yesterday.

Singh said that two policemen and a revenue department employee were injured in the brick batting.

An FIR has been registered against 108 people and the matter is being investigated, he said.

The Deputy SP refused to term it as communal tension and said the situation was peaceful.
