16 workers injured in clash in UP
Sixteen labourers were injured in firing after a clash between suspended workers of a factory and security guards of the company here, police said on Wednesday.

injured in firing after a clash between suspended workers of a
factory and security guards of the company here, police said
20 people from both sides have been arrested and
police is probing the incident.
The clash took place yesterday when 18 workers
suspended by the management of Ankur Thread factory on grounds
of indiscipline and dereliction of duty were holding a protest
demanding their reinstatement.
When they tried to enter the factory, the security
guards stopped them leading to the clash, police said.
While the workers alleged that the factory management
fired at them when they were holding the protest, the factory
owner Ashok Jalan claimed that the workers opened fire in
order to implicate the management.
Both sides have registered FIRs against each other in
Chiluataal Police Station.
Later, the workers of the factory held a dharna at the
divisional commissioner’s office demanding action against the
Commissioner K Ravindra Nayak has assured them of a
fair inquiry into the incident.
