28-year-old youth shot dead in UP

A 28-year-old youth was allegedly shot dead by unidentified assailants near Shamli railway station, police said on Tuesday.

Muzaffarnagar: A 28-year-old youth was allegedly shot dead by unidentified assailants near Shamli railway station, police said on Tuesday.

According to police, the incident occurred yesterday when Vishesh Sharma, who used to work in Delhi, was on his way to his village along with his brother.

Police said that Sharma had arrived on the train from the Delhi and was on the bike with his brother headed to Khard village when the assailants came in a car and shot him.

Sharma was rushed to hospital, where he was declared dead, police said, adding that a case has been registered and inquiries are on in the matter.
