Lucknow: The Aam Aadmi Party will launch statewide protests in Uttar Pradesh against Land Acquisition Bill next week on the occasion of the death anniversary of Bhagat Singh.

"AAP will hold protests in all district headquarters of UP on March 23 against the Land Acquisition Bill," the party's national spokesperson Sanjay Singh said here.

He added that issues like rising crime graph, women security and unemployment would also be taken up in the agitation.

Commenting on future strategy after winning Delhi Assembly polls, Singh said that the party's Political Affairs Committee (PAC) has decided to expand its base in the entire country.

"We will consider contesting elections in states where our party will be strong. A central committee will be constituted to ensure more participation of workers," the spokesperson said.

On "sting operation" of a former Congress MLA Asif Mohd Khan alleging that Singh tried to offer ministership for government formation in Delhi, he said that it was not sting operation but talks in AAP's minority committee that were distorted.

Asked about reports that he would be made AAP's convener, Singh said, "There is not distant possibility of this."
