Muzaffarnagar: Submitting the final report
on the kidnapping case against a college student, who
resurfaced with his girlfriend after their suspected `horror`
killing, police have cleared him and two of his family members
of charges of abduction.

According to the prosecution, police filed their final report in the court on Monday saying the accused, Ajit
Saini and two of his family members were not found involved in
kidnapping.

Police had detained Saini, a student of Business
Administration in the month of May this year, and lodged a
case of kidnapping and fraud against him and two of his family
members for abducting Anshu Tomar.

Later, Anshu had recorded a statement saying she had
eloped with Saini with her consent and married him.

The couple had eloped around seven months back after the
girl`s family opposed their relationship.

After assurances from the family that they would
solemnise their marriage, the duo returned home on April 19.

Later, two bodies were found in separate places in the
district and were wrongly identified as Saini and Anshu.

The case took a fresh twist when the couple landed at a
police station on May 9.
