Lucknow: Taking note of reports of
government doctors being involved in private practice, the
Uttar Pradesh government has decided to take strict action
against those who flout the norms.
The state government has asked senior officials of the
health department to review the number of surgeries performed
by doctors, Health Minister Anant Kumar Mishra said.
"The officials should review the number of surgeries
being done by the surgeons. And if there is a decline in their
numbers, strict disciplinary action should be initiated
against doctors," Mishra said while addressing a review
He said he would take note of the number of surgeries
performed by the doctors after two months and would initiate
action in case the number is less.
Stating that the government had agreed to pay non-
practising allowance (NPA) to the doctors, Mishra said it
was now their duty to perform their job sincerely.
