Akhilesh to promote development of hi-tech cities
Akhilesh Yadav said his govt will promote development of hi-tech cities which are equipped with facilities to take care of the changing needs of people.
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday said his government will promote development of hi-tech cities in the state which are equipped with facilities to take care of the changing needs of people.
"In a changing environment there is a change in people`s living and their needs have also increased. So, it is necessary to develop hi-tech cities on the basis of new concept so that people can get all facilities in one place and do not have to roam about for them," the chief minister said on the sidelines of the sidelines of a function here.
Yadav said if distance between office and home is less it will be easier for people. Similarly, if children`s schools, markets are nearer it will be easier for people to commmute besides it will save time and fuel.
"It is in this context that high-tech cities have been visualised, Yadav said on the sidelines of the function where State Industrial Development Corporation Limited made a presentation on its proposed new industrial hi-tech city in trans-Ganga area of Kanpur.
The proposed city will be built in the area of 1132 acres having a boundary wall all around and equipped with facilities like underground wiring, cabling, gas supply, water supply besides a park spread over 300 acres.
When completed, the proposed city will have towers having 28 to 35 storeys in which offices concerning information technology industries, BPOs, financial institutions, hotels, are proposed to be set up.
An `Exposition Mart will also be installed, half of which will be car mart, and the other half will be for leather goods and handicraft products.
Residential areas of the city will be on the pattern of Chandigarh and will have water recycling facility.
