Alld HC disposes of application related to Ayodhya title suits

Allahabad HC on Friday disposed of an application seeking summoning of seven missing files from the State Government related to the Ayodhya title suits saying it was a side issue and probing it further would delay decision.

Lucknow: The Allahabad High Court on Friday
disposed of an application seeking summoning of seven missing files from the State Government related to the Ayodhya title suits saying it was a side issue and probing it further would delay decision of the suits in question.
A special full bench of the Lucknow bench of the high
court comprising Justice S U Khan, Justice Sudhir Agrawal and
Justic D V Sharma passed the order on an application filed by
Sunni Central Board of Waqfs U P and others.

The court while expressing anguish at the manner in
which CBI had proceeded in the matter, observed, "As loss/
removal of files from the secretriat containing seven
documents is only a side issue/incidental question for the
purpose of deciding the suits in question, hence we do not
propose to probe the matter further."
"It may further retard the progress of the suit which
has already made a sort of record", the court said referring
to the tardy progress of the case.

The initial suit in the case was filed in the year 1949.

Earlier, the court had directed the CBI to hold a probe
into the missing documents and the investigating agency had
submitted a final status report on it on February 1.
