Alld HC stays arrest of ex-VC, sons

The Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court on Tuesday stayed arrest of former vice-chancellor of a university and his sons in connection with a girl`s complaint, which accused them of threatening her.

university and his sons in connection with a girl`s complaint,
which accused them of threatening her.

The court stayed the arrest of former VC of Chhatrapati
Shahuji Majaraj Medical University, KM Singh, and his three
sons `till cogent material was found against them.`

On a petition of Singh to quash the impugned FIR, a
division bench of justices Abdul Mateen and Satish Chandra
stayed the arrest of Kunwar Kant, Kamal Kant and Krishna Kant
also.

Earlier, an FIR was lodged against them for allegedly
threatening a girl student enrolled at their Nursing Institute
on October 14 at Hazratganj.

Singh claimed that the girl, who lacked in requisite
attendance, was exerting pressure on the institute to allow
her appear in the examinations.
