RLD president Ajit Singh accused Gandhian Anna Hazare of "playing politics" in the name of fighting corruption.

New Delhi: Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) president
Ajit Singh on Tuesday accused Gandhian Anna Hazare of "playing
politics" in the name of fighting corruption and said the
proposed campaign of team Anna against Congress in Uttar
Pradesh assembly elections would bear no fruit.

"As long as he was fighting againt corruption, a lot of
people were with him. But now he is playing politics (in the
name of fighting corruption). He is choosing one party over
other (in the process)," the RLD chief told reporters.

"I don`t think he will have any impact in UP poll," Singh,
whose party recently joined UPA, said.
"BSP chief Mayawati is making noises that she is
supporting Lokpal. So, does Anna intend to campaign in her
favour?" Singh, who is also Union Civil Aviation Minister,

"Everybody knows that the UP government is the most
corrupt government in the will Anna campaign in
favour of her as she has promised to support his version of
Lokpal?" Singh added.

The RLD President was talking to reporters after former
BSP MLA from Bijnaur Shahnawaz Rana joined his party.

Singh claimed his party was firming up a "formidable"
alliance of Muslims and farmers particularly in western UP for
good performance in the poll.
"RLD has always been known for its alliance with Muslims
and farmers and the same tie-up is coming back to form and
will help the party perform excellently in the poll,"
he claimed.

Another BSP MLA Hazi Yakub Quraishi had joined RLD
