Lucknow: After the three-day statewide
agitation against the Mayawati government, the Samajwadi Party on Saturday decided to stage protests at village level on March 17
to expose what it said misdeeds of the ruling dispensation.

"We will hold protests in all villages in Uttar Pradesh
on March 17 and expose misdeeds of the BSP government," senior
party leader Shivpal Singh Yadav told reporters here.
He said a decision to this effect was taken at a
meeting attended by party legislators, MPs and office-bearers.

The party had organised an agitation against the BSP
government from March seven to nine.

"The way in which the recent peaceful agitation was
dealt with by the BSP government is unfortunate," Yadav said.

He said the party would continue its agitation for the
ouster of the Mayawati government.
Yadav alleged the state government officials did not
give correct figures of SP workers arrested during the recent
stir.

"Officers who forget their service rules to please
Mayawati will be dealt with strictly once the SP comes to
power," he said adding the need of the hour was to remove the
BSP government.
