 A massive anti-encroachment drive launched by the district authorities here in collaboration with the civic body, is gathering pace towards clearing the interiors of the city.

Agra: A massive anti-encroachment drive launched by the district authorities here in collaboration with the civic body, is gathering pace towards clearing the interiors of the city.

The drive is being led by city Magistrate Rekha S Chauhan, and assisted by Environment Officer of Agra Municipal Corporation Rajiv Rathi.

"We have drawn up an elaborate plan to clear the interiors of the city, the old bazars and the heart of the city, which had not been touched before," Rathi said.

"Advance notices had been sent to everyone and the encroachments marked boldly to enable people to remove their belongings, he added.

The drive, which has been going on for the last two weeks, will continue till September-end.
