Lucknow: The Samajwadi party on Friday dissolved
all its district and city units with immediate effect as part
of its efforts to revamp the party ahead of the Uttar Pradesh
Assembly polls early next year.
"The units will be reorganised later," party spokesman
Rajendra Chowdhury told reporters.
Before the state SP chief Akhilesh Yadav decided to
dissolve all the district and city units, party supremo
Mulayam Singh Yadav and senior leader Azam Khan and Shivpal
Yadav held a meeting at the party office to discuss the party
strategy for the upcoming polls.
Ruling out differences within the party over ticket
distribution, Khan dismissed such reports as rumours and said
SP was united.
