Lucknow: The man credited for Samajwadi Party’s stunning win in Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, Akhilesh Yadav, made it emphatically clear on Friday that no one would be allowed to break law and order in the state.

The young turk’s assertion came in view of multiple incidents of post-poll violence, that have been blamed on Samajwadi Party workers.

“If there have been some instances, we have taken a strict stand on them. We want to make it clear that law and order would be maintained at all cost,” Akhilesh said at a press conference.

“Upset over the huge majority garnered by the Samajwadi Party, some elements are deliberately trying to defame Samajwadi Party through such acts, we condemn it… law and order will do its work,” he added.

On the accusations that SP workers were involved in the acts of violence in Jhansi, Firozabad and Sitapur, he said that some officials – who are certain that they would be removed from their post - are trying to tarnish the image of the party.

“Those officials who know that they will be removed are doing such acts…they are not taking care of law and order,” he pointed out.
