Ayodhya: President of the Akhil Bharat
Hindu Mahasabha (ABHM) Swami Chakrapani today said that a
settlement in the Ranjnamabhoomi-Babri mosque dispute could be
worked out amicably through negotiations.
His statement points to a shift in the stand of the
ABHM, one of the main parties in the dispute, as earlier this
month it had filed a caveat in the Supreme Court to pre-empt
any ex-parte order in the Ayodhya title suit case.
Chakrapani made the statement while talking to
reporters after meeting Mahant Gyan Das of the Nirmohi Akhara and lauding his efforts for reaching a cordial settlement to the vexed Ayodhya dispute.
A meeting of ABHM`s national working committee would
be held in Ayodhya on October 31 in which the main issues
would be construction of the temple and development of the
town, Chakrapani said.
"We would demand a special package of Rs one lakh
crore from the Centre for development of Ayodhya town," he
said.
