Bail denied to two of the accused in Revati murder case

A local court rejected the bail plea of two of the accused in the murder of a senior UP BJP leader`s wife Revati Singh.

Muzaffarnagar: A local court on Wednesday rejected the bail plea of two of the accused in the murder of a senior UP BJP leader`s wife Revati Singh.

Additional District Sessions Judge Rajbahadur Singh
said the charges against the accused-- Ashok and Sunil --are
serious and there was enough evidence against them to deny
them bail.
According to prosecution, Revati Singh, wife of BJP
MLA Hukam Singh, was murdered and Rs 68 lakh and ornaments
robbed from her house here on July 30 last year.

Police had arrested the two accused and recovered
Rs 52.8 lakh from them.
Police have filed a charge sheet againat seven persons
-- Shankar, Jashodh, Lalan, Ashok, Sunil, Pradeep and Ravi --
in the court and charges would be framed on February 23 by the
court.
